Adjusting power options for the conversion & upload process

In order to avoid several problems when sending videos to the Dartfish platform there are several settings to change :
  • Setting the Power options to Always on.
  • Disabling the automatic updates Windows function.
Please keep in mind that the conversion speed is determined by your computer's processing power. The speed of the second part, the upload process, is determined by your internet connection's upload speed.

Windows XP (see at the bottom for Windows Vista instructions) :
  • In Windows press START and go into SETTINGS -- CONTROL PANEL
  • click on POWER OPTIONS

  • Select ALWAYS ON and set every option to NEVER

  • Press APPLY and OK
  • In Windows press START and go into SETTINGS -- CONTROL PANEL
  • click on AUTOMATIC UPDATES

  • We recommend to NOT install updates automatically but rather to select "Download updates but let me choose when to install them"
This is necessary in order to prevent Windows from rebooting the computer without asking you.

  • Press APPLY and OK
Now you will be able to convert & upload videos without any problem.

Windows Vista :
  • In Windows press START and go into SETTINGS -- CONTROL PANEL
  • click on SYSTEM AND MAINTENANCE

  • Select POWER OPTIONS

  • Select HIGH PERFORMANCE and then press on CHANGE PLAN SETTINGS

  • Press APPLY and OK
  • In Windows press START and go into SETTINGS -- CONTROL PANEL
  • click on AUTOMATIC UPDATES

  • We recommend to NOT install updates automatically but rather to select "Download updates but let me choose when to install them"
This is necessary in order to prevent Windows from rebooting the computer without asking you.
  • Press APPLY and OK
Now you will be able to convert & upload videos without any problem.
