Connecting two camcorders
Problem:
Unability to connect 2 camcorders at the same time, using the InTheAction module.
Answer:
First of all, does your computer meet our Minimum System Requirements? You can see them there.
>> Hardware connection (through IEEE 1394 / Firewire ports)
After completing the hardware connection as shown above, turn the 2 camcorders on by switching the main trigger to 'camera' position.
Your computer should connect and recognize your hardware automatically.
>> Test with two 'Explorer' windows.
Once the connection is done, you have to check with Windows if your two camcorders can work simultaneously, before trying inside the DartTrainer Software.
- Right click on the "Start" icon on the Desktop, and select ?Explore". On the navigational left-hand area of the screen, select the line that corresponds to the 1st camcorder. You should now get the first camcorder's picture on the right-hand area of your screen.
- Repeat this process for the second camcorder, by opening another Explorer window and select the line corresponding to the second camcorder this time.

If it does fail, try the next possibilities:
- Invert power 'ON' order of the camcorder.
- Connect both camcorder on the same IEEE1394 card or connect them separately (1x on the IEEE1394 onboard port and 1x on the IEEE1394 extended port - PCMCIA or PCI card-).
The success of the dual camcorders connection depends only on your computer, the IEEE1394 connection, the camcorder and the ways they are connected together.
If you manage to have pictures from both camcorders at the same time in two different Explorer windows, both of them running smoothly, your hardware is ok, and you should encounter no trouble in using two camcorders in the Dartfish Software.
- You can now launch the Dartfish Software. But before using the two cameras, we need to adjust one option.
Inside Dartfish Software, click the "Tools" menu, select "Options", then go to the "InTheAction" tab.
There, move the radio-button to "several cameras".
You can now switch to the "InTheAction" module. Select both camcorders, and their respective pictures should be displayed.

The "Catch Up" buttons let you synchronise your two video sources by giving a delay handicap to the fastest camcorder.
You can now click the "InTheAction" tab, and begin to work with your two camcorders simultaneously.
