Dartfish, a worldwide company developing the latest in broadcast technology and sports training software, livened up the annual NBA all star games which took place last weekend in Atlanta with extraordinary StroMotion footage, dubbed "TotalMotion" by TNT.
The images were hailed by T.V. commentators Ernie Johnson and Kenny Smith as being the "coolest thing they had ever seen" and were used to break down the movements during the slam dunk contest as well as the path of the ball during the all-star games.
"This is the first time that StroMotion gets seen on TV for basketball," said Victor Bergonzoli, President of Dartfish USA. "TNT loved it, the fans loved it, and we are happy to be a part of such an extraordinary event. StroMotion is fantastic for basketball analysis, and seeing each part of the approach and jump to the basket broken down in a frame-by-frame movement really gives basketball enthusiasts at home that extra "wow" when they see just how amazing these guys are."
Prior to the NBA All-Star Games, Dartfish images have been used to enhance the broadcasts of the past three Ski World Championships (including St. Moritz which is currently taking place), 2002 FIFA World Cup, 2002 Winter Olympic Games, 2000 Summer Olympic Games, 2001 and 2002 World Figure Skating Championships, and the 2001 Indianapolis 500 to name some.
