Baptist Collierville Introduces New Technology

Collierville, Tenn., April 7, 2006 - Baptist Memorial Hospital-Collierville recently introduced Dartfish, a new video analysis software application.

The software, which is often used in sports medicine and physical therapy, allows physical therapists to analyze motion. Dartfish video analysis software uses video for instant visual feedback and to assist athletes and physical therapy patients in making corrections. Baptist Collierville will be the first in the Mid-South to use the Dartfish technology.

“We are pleased to provide Collierville and the surrounding communities with such an innovative technology,” said Bob Gwartney, director of ancillary services at Baptist Collierville. “This software can serve as a beneficial training tool for athletes, as well as a tool for some physical therapy patients during their treatment.”

Many athletes around the world use Dartfish in their training routines, including various United States national and Olympic teams. One hundred thirty-eight Dartfish users won medals at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Turino, Italy.

Baptist Collierville opened its doors in May of 1999. With all the amenities of home, this full-service hospital sits on a 75-acre park-like campus and features extra-large patient rooms and a walking trail.
