Dartfish Captures Horizon Award as the Sports Technology of the Year

Atlanta, GA, USA ? Dartfish, a worldwide company developing the latest in sports training software and broadcast technology, was recognized at the annual Horizon Awards presentation Thursday when it was honored with the Sports Technology of the Year Award. Dartfish?s SimulCam comparison application was recognized as the technology that had the greatest impact on the sports industry in 2002. Highlights of the year that helped lead to the achievement include the SimulCam images show by broadcasters all over the world during the Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games as well as the positive feedback of Olympic athletes that had been training with Dartfish software leading up to the games.

"We are extremely pleased that Dartfish has been honoured with this award by our peers who have acknowledged the importance of visualization in sports analysis and the advantage it brings to viewers, coaches, and athletes alike," said Victor Bergonzoli, President of Dartfish USA upon accepting the Award. "It is thanks to broadcast networks such as NBC, national sports organizations, elite athletes, professional sports teams, as well as all of the university and high school teams who have been using our applications and supporting us that we have the privilege of being here tonight."


The Horizon Awards, created in 2000, are given annually by the Atlanta Sports Council to recognize the international leaders in the sports business as selected by their peers. This year, there were 10 awards given out for sports business excellence. In addition to the Technology award, some of the other categories included Best Sports Business Executive, Sports Media Program, Professional Sports Organization, Sports Philanthropic Partnership and Sports-Themed Advertising Campaign.
