A to Z coverage of Dartfish applications in a hand’s on program included in-the-field video capture of elite athletes. USA hockey, figure skating and track and field coaches in conjunction with expert Dartfish users, demonstrated ‘real world’ coaching and training techniques both on and off the field.
Tanya Porter, Head of the Coaching and Sport Science Division of USOC, added theory to support the use of video feedback and practice development, applicable for athletes ranging from youth, just learning the fundamentals, to the elite Olympic athlete.
Katherine Aiken, Director of Technology Services, Division of Athletics, uses Dartfish in 15 different sports, including Sports Performance at the University at Buffalo. Aiken found the USOC Presentation and meeting one-on-one with the USA Figure Skating Coach to be highlights of the workshop. She highly recommended the symposium, which will be offered again at Lake Placid, New York, September 21-23, 2007 featuring USA figure skating, hockey, weightlifting/fitness, ski jumping, alpine skiing and track and field.
Dartfish Performance Technology Workshop at Lake Placid Olympic Training Center Proves to be an “Invaluable Learning Experience”
Combining great practical training alongside USA Olympians and coaches at the Lake Placid Olympic Training Center March 23-25, 2007 - an environment away from daily work interruptions – offered a focused, interactive learning experience. The facility lent itself to a highly productive weekend with a state-of-the-art classroom just steps away from world-class training facilities. According to Warren Pretorius, a USPTA Master Professional, “A valuable part of the symposium was the networking potential with other Dartfish users, often in different but complimentary disciplines. From both a teaching and learning experience, I highly recommend these symposiums.”
