Dartfish USA To Provide Video Analysis Services For 2006 & 2008 U.S. Olympic Teams
February 10, 2006
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The United States Olympic Committee and Dartfish USA, Inc. are proud to announce the continuation of their relationship in video analysis for the 2006 and 2008 U.S. Olympic Teams. Specializing in creating video analysis and processing technologies that compare, contrast and reveal the evolution of athletic performances, Dartfish will provide access to its newest system for Team USA coaches, athletes, and USOC Sport Science and Sport Medicine personnel.
In late 2005, Dartfish and the USOC joined together on a successful Performance Technology Workshop in Colorado Springs that provided video analysis training to more than 55 coaches and high performance staff from 26 Olympic sport programs. The USOC has partnered with Dartfish over the past seven years to educate coaches, supplying a powerful tool in helping to analyze and provide the best quality feedback to Team USA athletes on performance. "Our relationship with Dartfish has greatly benefited athletes in their training for Olympic and international competitions. Through their commitment to sport performance technology, we have been able to put quality video analysis products into the hands of the coaches who are making a difference in the preparation and development of U.S. athletes," said Tanya Porter, head of performance technology for the U.S. Olympic Committee. "The latest version of Dartfish software provides an intuitive interface which surrounds its keystone products such as simulcam, stromotion and multiview -making it a valuable tool for a wide variety of Olympic sports and athletes.
Dartfish recently released the newest adaptation of its landmark software, version 4.0. The new edition provides advancements in three main areas: the sharing of content through easy to use wizards to create multimedia files for distribution using an array of communication methods; the addition of multiple key positions that allow experts to help users through a breakdown of movements; and a simplified and more powerful tagging and editing module. All of this is now surrounded by a much more insightful and easy to use interface and library for video clip management.
"The 4.0 version is one of our most celebrated releases," said Victor Bergonzoli, president of Dartfish USA, Inc. "The USOC and Olympic programs have played a major role in giving us the feedback necessary for such an achievement. We are excited to say that Dartfish 4.0 was developed by coaches for coaches."
The addition of the tagging module to the TeamPro Suite gives an added dimension of data and video organization, as well as an incredible environment for team scouting, with multitudes of key video clips right at your fingertips to prepare America's teams.
The relationship between Dartfish and the USOC has been a cornerstone in video analysis for elite sports.
"Dartfish has taken the initiative to develop such a powerful sports analysis environment, complement it with their technological innovations that it is known and recognized for, and made it affordable to coaches at every level," added Porter. "We are happy to have Dartfish involved with our Olympic services and programs."
"We are extremely proud to be associated to the U.S. Olympic Team," noted Bergonzoli. "Our contribution to making any Olympian or athlete at any level in the USA a better skilled one has been extremely rewarding. We look forward to continuing on this successful path for the next four years and more."
