Olympic Sport of Taekwondo wants more TV

The World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) has recently targeted a greater broadcast exposure for the Olympic sport of taekwondo. It is hoping to improve on the broadcast coverage of the 2005 and 2007 WTF World Taekwondo Championships for the forthcoming 2009 Championships.

The WTF is furthermore focusing on an increased distribution of the television and sponsorship rights.

With these objectives at heart, the WTF has entered into an agreement with Dartfish for the provision of a web television portal, soon to be launched on the WTF's website.

The federation's president, Chungwon Choue, stated that the internet project with Dartfish is in its final stages because of the growing need to introduce taekwondo sports to the world. The Dartfish service will be offered free of charge.

In order to reach the public as quickly and efficiently as possible, the Dartfish internet content from WTF competitions will also be distributed to major international broadcasters.
