The use of Dartfish technology is becoming an essential tool during the Beijing Olympics

The use of Dartfish technology is becoming an essential tool during the Olympics. During the Beijing Olympics it is being used for both athlete performance and broadcasting special effects.

Athletes are using Dartfish long before arriving at the Olympic Games, while in training to analyze their performances, correct their mistakes, evaluate their opponents’ performances, and increase their chances of taking home the coveted gold medal. While performing at Olympics Dartfish is used to ensure that even the most miniscule mistakes are not committed on their quest to the medal podium.

At the last Olympics in Torino, Italy more than half the medals won were by users of Dartfish software. Dartfish first made its appearance broadcasting at the Olympic Games in Sydney. Since that time unique Dartfish features, such as Stromotion and SimulCam have been used on many broadcasts to enhance production and create a never-beforeseen analysis for the viewing public.

During the Beijing Olympics, six broadcasting companies are using Dartfish for broadcasting and internet publishing. Two televisions are using a full Dartfish service including operators: NBC (USA) with one Dartfish operator and three Sportvision operators and Televisa (Mexico) with Publicidad Virtual operators.

Four televisions are leasing Dartfish broadcast product DartStudio: CBC (Canada) is operating from Toronto, Canal+ (France) is operating from Paris, SVT (Sweden) is operating from Stockholm and BBC (UK) is operating from Beijing. The Dartfish system is operated by their own employees who have been trained before the games. A total of 12 operators have been trained and the system is operated 18/24 through
operator's shifts.

All systems function in high definition and Dartfish enhancements are used for live coverage, for magazines and for internet publishing.
