What the Canadians know about biomechanics and athletes that YOU should know

The study of biomechanics is beginning to make a significant showing in the offices of coaches around the world.  Coaches, including those at the college level, are beginning to understand the importance of training their athletes using the latest available technology.

The Canadian Sports Centre Pacific (CSCP) is one of the institutes that is leading the way in developing strategies for athletes and their coaches.  Their studies center around the best way coaches can teach their athletes the right way to perform in their sport, and how to visually communicate that instruction for faster learning by the athletes.

The one technology that seems to be taking hold around the globe, including at the CSCP, is Dartfish video analysis.  What makes this the core of good coaching at the college level is simple:  It is easy to use software that can give an athlete immediate visual understanding of what his or her coach is trying to teach them.

In the study of biomechanics, that immediate feedback is crucial.  College coaches, especially basketball coaches, are finding that to be a superior coaching tool that gives their athletes an advantage on the court.
