Microsoft Vista compatibility
For early adopters of Microsoft’s new Vista operating system, version 4.5 is compatible. Dartfish will also continue to run on Windows XP/2000.Video played with sound across the application
Previously, to hear the sound on video, you used the Player tool. Now the same functionality exists in the Ana-lyzer, InTheAction and in the Mediabook.Play video in reverse
Now, version 4.5 allows you to play MPEG video in reverse by selecting a negative speed. For AVI video it continues to be only possible to play forwards and WMV video plays only at full speed or frame by frame – according to the limitations of those encoding profiles.Set the origin for Data Table measurements
Now you can use a marker to set the origin and even the orientation of the coordinates system such that measurements will be made and be positive/negative in value from where and in which direction you choose.Three new Mediabook skins are available

Many of you have requested a method of importing video from DVDs. Version 4.5 brings you this. Video files and titles can be copied to your Dartfish Library from a video DVD and optionally joined into a single video clip on your hard drive. Note that many commercially available DVDs are copy protected and this process may not be possible. For more details see the Help menu in your updated Dartfish software.New Mediabook
Dartfish now integrates a new encoding method to gene-rate Flash video files in your Mediabook. This has many great advantages such as:- Reducing the Flash video size while keeping or even improving the image quality
- Encoding both video and sound simultaneously, i.e. your Mediabook now has video sound
- Publishing Mediabooks of longer video files
- Replaying video of all frame rates at accurate speed
No more lost and broken “dongles”
ProSuite, TeamPro and Live versions of Dartfish 4.5 no longer require a security key (dongle) to function; security will be provided by online software activation.Dartfish Classroom’s licence server will still require a dongle though.
