Converting video
When sharing or storing video, one inescapable fact is that video files are big files and that becomes an important consideration. To give you an idea of what you are dealing with, every second of uncompressed video is approximately 25 Megabytes. To put that another way, every Gigabyte of hard disk space you have can only hold 40 seconds worth of uncompressed video.
This problem is addressed by compressing video by means of encoding. Dartfish has integrated most of the industry standard encoding and has defined profiles appropriate for sharing and storing video across different media.
