After one full season of operating the Dartfish VAR system in the Super D1 League, the results have been extremely positive. The VAR Light Football solution provided by Dartfish has enhanced match integrity and brought a new level of transparency to the competition.
“After one full season with the Dartfish VAR system, we’ve seen a remarkable improvement in the fairness of our matches. Its ease of operation has empowered our referees to make accurate, timely decisions without slowing the flow of the game.”
A Reliable, Accessible, and Cost-Effective Solution
Jemal Sevir adds: “The Dartfish VAR system is not only reliable and precise, it’s perfectly suited to our league’s needs. Its intuitive interface makes it accessible to our officials, and its performance in live matches has been outstanding — all while maintaining a low operating cost.”
According to Jemal Sevir, the roll-out process in Mauritania was smooth, and experience has shown that the successful launch of VAR in a country requires a combination of four key factors:
- Clear vision and leadership, as expressed by FFRIM President M. Ahmed YAHYA
- State-of-the-art project planning and execution
- Strong collaboration with the FIFA Innovation Team
- A reliable, easy-to-use technical solution, such as the one provided by Dartfish SA
Building Refereeing Capacity for the Future
A notable side benefit of VAR’s introduction in Super D1 has been the sharp increase in the number of FFRIM referees fully trained and certified on VAR technology. This has opened opportunities for Mauritanian officials to participate in continental and international tournaments, where VAR is now the standard.
