Gustavo Rodriguez has been a Baseball Umpire Director for the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) for more than 15 years.
He has umpired 2 Olympic Games, 2 World Championships and many other regional baseball games.
In this interview, Gustavo tells us how the WBSC works with Video Review Officials, who can initiate video review challenges and what makes a good Video Review Official for a Baseball or Softball Game.
The key advantage of the Dartfish Video Review System is that it allows Video Review Officials to control the video review operations by themselves via a Fully Touchscreen User Interface without the dependence of a technician in between. This streamlines the process, reducing the time to make a decision, especially for Video Review Officials with different languages such is the case at an International Sports Organization like the WBSC.
