The Korea Wrestling Federation (KWF) has been operating a comprehensive video match-analysis and video-review system for all weight categories in every national competition, with the aim of elevating the technical standards of domestic wrestling and strengthening transparency in match operations. The Federation conducts real-time analysis of match footage and uploads the results to an online cloud platform, integrating them with a Power BI–based visualization interface to support teams nationwide in utilizing match data more efficiently.

1. Video Analysis and Review System Optimized for the Three-Mat Competition Environment
Most domestic wrestling tournaments in Korea are conducted across three mats simultaneously. The Korea Wrestling Federation has installed three cameras per mat, creating an analysis environment integrated with the Dartfish system.
The following equipment is installed:
- IP cameras
- SDI-based HD cameras
- SDI to IP encoder
- Several Network switchers and etc..

All video signals are consolidated through an IP-network infrastructure, enabling unified operation of:
- Video review
- Match-record analysis
- YouTube live streaming for each mat
This integrated system minimizes unnecessary duplicate investments and enables efficient media operations with limited resources.
2. Data-Driven Skill Development and Transparent Information Sharing
All match footage and analytical data are made transparently available to teams, athletes, coaches, and related stakeholders nationwide through the Dartfish Cloud platform. The Federation has expanded beyond conventional video distribution and now provides a comprehensive set of analysis resources, including:
- Match videos
- Tagging data
- Text-based match records
- Power BI–based graphical reports
This integrated data service supports more systematic and evidence-based match analysis, contributing significantly to the overall enhancement of wrestling technical standards in Korea.

3. Immediate and Practical Use in Referee Education
Video review materials also serve as essential educational resources for the Referee Committee. By incorporating real domestic match cases, the Federation actively utilizes these materials in:
- Referee training courses
- On-site feedback during competitions
- Prevention of misjudgments and unifying officiating standards
Additionally, video-review procedures are publicly displayed in real time through LED scoreboards at competition venues, further reinforcing transparency in match operations for athletes, officials, and spectators.

4. Operation of a Professional Media Team — Interview with Manager JEONGKUK SONG
Match-record analysis, video-review operations, and archival video management are carried out by the Media Team of the Korea Wrestling Federation, under the leadership of Manager JEONGKUK SONG.
The Media Team is composed of:
- Professionals specializing in video production and performance analysis
- Personnel who have completed Dartfish Academy training at the undergraduate or graduate level
Here is an interview with Manager JEONGKUK SONG.
Q. How did you first get introduced to Dartfish?
A. I first saw Dartfish in action at an international competition hosted by United World Wrestling (UWW). They were using it for video review, and the experience really stuck with me. Later on, I remembered that moment and reached out to the Techplanet Co. (Korea Reseller) team.
Q. What challenges were you facing before switching to Dartfish?
A. We had been using a video review system from another overseas company, but we kept running into issues—poor support, technical problems, and concerns about long-term scalability. It became clear that we needed a better and more reliable option.
Q. What convinced you that Dartfish was the right choice?
A. We felt that if Dartfish could meet our requirements, it could fully replace the system we had been using. On top of that, Dartfish Channel offered a great solution for managing the growing amount of match footage we accumulate every year. It also seemed like the right step toward building a future “Wrestling Video Archive System,” which was very appealing.
Q. How has your experience been since adopting Dartfish?
A. We’ve been using it for almost two years now. Of course, no system is perfect, and there have been occasional inconveniences. But what really impressed us is how actively Eddy Jang (CEO, Techplanet CO,) follows up on issues and works with headquarters to get them resolved. Thanks to that support, we feel very satisfied with our choice.
Q. How is Dartfish being used in the field today?
A. It has made video review at domestic competitions much smoother. Our match analysis and video archiving processes have also become more organized and efficient. Coaches and athletes are finding it genuinely helpful, and it’s contributing to overall performance improvement in Korean wrestling.
Q. What do you expect going forward?
A. We believe the positive trend will continue. We’re confident that Dartfish will keep improving and bring even greater value to Korean wrestling in the years ahead.
